About the Event

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION (Proceeds going to the Warrior Women Scholarship Fund for women & girls to access self-defense & martial arts).

THIS WILL BE RECORDED AND SENT OUT TO REGISTRANTS WHO COULD NOT ATTEND ONLINE/LIVE

Join us for this research-based body positivity webinar that will focus on teh social/emotional, nutritional, and physical aspects of body positivity.

We'll explore the benefits of taking a positive or even neutral perspective towards your body. We'll discuss how to cultivate self-love in an environment full of social media that holds us to seemingly impossible standards and discover ways to help each other as we all learn to be comfortable and confident in our skin. Participants will also get tips on how to assess their gyms and training environments and will learn what to look for when seeking a training facility that supports body positivity.

We'll also discuss healthy eating and learn how to shift our mindset when it comes to dieting. We'll discuss changing our perspective on food so that practicing body-positive nutrition is an enjoyable experience that allows you to enjoy fueling your body.

We'll also discuss the physical and emotional signs of disordered/maladaptive eating, and discuss the "do's and don'ts" of intervention.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Colleen Daly I Guerra Fit and Self-defense, Founder/Owner

Colleen is the founder of Guerrera Fit, a personal trainer, group fitness, and self-defense instructor. She has over 10 years of experience as a fitness professional, working to help people feel strong, confident, and powerful in their bodies. In addition to Guerrera Fit, Colleen is the founder of Guerrera Fight Club, a martial arts community for women and femmes.

Colleen trains and competes in boxing, kickboxing, and jiu-jitsu. She is a black belt in Krav Maga/Defensive Options and a purple belt in 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu. She has trained and competed in various martial arts and competitions, from Kickboxing to Jui Jitsu at expert levels.

Colleen takes a functionally focused, body-positive approach to training. She emphasizes what your body is capable of, rather than what it looks like. She is a published author in the Journal of Clinical Sport Psychology on research she conducted with the Northwestern University Body and Media Lab on how fitness professionals influence the body satisfaction of their participants.

Colleen is also an accomplished graphic designer and has supported many women’s organizations and non-profits through her work. When not working or training you can almost certainly find her spoiling her two rescue pitties, Sabrina and Tadpole.

Anya Wallace, PA-C I Companion Health, PLLC Eternal Radiance, Owner/Founder

Anya is an experienced medical provider and currently a physician associate and partner with Companion Health, a primary care and functional medicine provider, with a focus on holistic health and wellness. Anya’s approach is about focusing on the individual rather than the diagnosis. She believes in deeply connecting with clients, which includes talking with them on a more personal level, rather than the stiff, cookie-cutter style seen in many healthcare practices today.

Anya has a passion for overall health and wellness, with an emphasis on exercise, nutrition, mental health, ADD/ADHD, and hormonal balance. Anya also owns her own company, Eternal Radiance, which specializes in a clean version of cosmetic injections, to help her clients feel more confident inside and out.

Anya also trains and teaches at local martial arts and self-defense gym, Fit to Fight. She is a Defensive Options/Krav Maga Black Belt and holds a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. When she is not working or training, you can find her cuddled up with her three rescue dogs—Brody, Arya, and Panda.

Chantell Prestcott-Hollander, LGPC, NCC I The StrongHER® Initiative, Founder/Owner, Krav Oz, Program Director.

Chantell is equally passionate about helping women uncover their physical strength along with their internal strength and resilience. She has spent well over a decade teaching and training women in fitness and self-defense. She has seen first-hand at Krav Oz, (the gym she operates with her husband) the potential physical training has to foster resilience and growth for women, especially those who have experienced trauma. Chantell is a Defensive Options/Krav Maga black belt, Certified Personal Trainer, and a 200 hr. Yoga instructor.

When she’s not counseling teaching or training you will find her spending quality time with her two teenage boys or her rescue German Sheppard, Zoey.
